Please send your files in a single ".zip" file to reduce the possibily of processing errors and also for security reasons. If you do not have a file compression utility, you can download 7-Zip which is a free program. Your files and designs will be kept safe and confidential. International Circuits does not sell or transfer information in any way to third parties. Please see our privacy page for more information.

Please include a readme file in the zip with your contact information so that we have a way of contacting you with your quote.

File Format

Gerber data in RS274X format is preferred. Files in the RS274D format require a seperate aperture list with all apertures defined. You will also need to send in a NC Excellon Drill File that contains finished tool sizes, in X & Y coordinates.

Below is an example of the gerber files required for a 2-layer design. Some of the more common extensions are in parentheses:

• Top Layer (.GTL, .TOP, .CMP)
• Bottom Layer (.GBL, .BOT)
• Top Silkscreen (.GTO, .SLT)
• Bottom Silkscreen (.GBO, .SLB)
• Top Solder Mask (.GTS, .SMT)
• Bottom Solder Mask (. GBS, .SMB)
• Drill File (.DRD, .DRR)

By default, we will assume that the layers are represented by a top-side view. This means your files we be viewed from the component side looking down.

In order to better serve you and to ensure that your PCB is manufacturered exactly the way you want it, we recommend our customers provide a separate readme file detailing your manufacturing instructions that should include, board dimensions, thickness, tolerances and outline details. Hole sizes with quantity, plating information and tolerances. Copper weight, material type, silkscreen information, and any additional notes or requirements (blind/buried vias, countersink, controlled impedance, etc). We also recommended you provide technical contact information.

File Conversion

We also offer simple design services such as file conversions from schematics, drawings, and a variety of programs (Protel, Altium, etc.) into the Gerber RS274X format which is the standard for professional production.
